It's amazing that so many people feel such a connection to Whitney Houston and her music. I too was surprised at how Whitney's death touched me. That long ago clip they showed of Whitney singing happy birthday to Bobbi Kristina as she sat beside her daddy, just got to me. Such a beautiful family, for some sad reason, torn asunder.

And you're so right, I really believe that one of the reasons that so many people do connect with Whitney is she was real, with faults and flaws just like the rest of us. And boy did we root for her to make it. I found so much comfort that almost everyone they've interviewed spoke of Whitney's deep faith and the peace she has found now.Pamelaknbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11337220354881203253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4726637864993271352.post-20190963663282810212012-03-12T09:15:00.000-07:002012-03-12T09:15:00.000-07:00Hi Pamela,

I cried during 80 percent of this interview. Most harrowing was watching Gary Houston unable to finish singing "I look to You." The look on Oprah's face as she witnessed this; watching her hand go to her forehead in grief.... you could've put out a fire with my tears.

I admired Whitney for her talent, of course, but mostly for her human-ness. Like us all she had her demons; demons that she struggled with. She wasn't some porcelain doll up on a shelf. She was just like any one of us. Any one of us could've been her in that tub. Fighting those demons will drain your life from you if you're not careful; make you tired...

I know she is at rest now.Minnie Lahongraishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06623546640130379680noreply@blogger.com
